Pain Impact Questionnaire Launching in June 2005

QualityMetric’s scientifically developed and documented PIQ-6™- Pain Impact Questionnaire, designed to produce a combined measure of both pain severity and impact, is set to launch in late June. Easy to administer and interpret, this six-item patient-reported questionnaire will be available for static (paper and pencil) and online administration. It has been developed for use by:

  • Pharmaceutical/biotechnology/medical device companies with medications or devices for the treatment of pain or in areas where pain is an important component of quality of life measurement (arthritis, back pain, migraines, neuropathy, oncology, rehabilitation, etc.) as a basis for product marketing claims.
  • Consumer-centric managed care organizations/hospitals/clinicians to enable more effective care.
  • Scholarly researchers who rely on royalty-free access to all QualityMetric surveys in clinical and outcomes research.
  • Policymakers in government or private sector organizations for regional and national healthcare databases to guide policy decisions

PIQ-6 can be used alone, or as a supplement to generic health status measurement with surveys such as QualityMetric’s SF-36v2™.
