• Grant holders: biomedical Principal Investigators in receipt of US government grants

• Time period: Select the most recent publications or specify a time period E.g. 200? to the present

Our database is derived from a wide range of bioinformatic and publications data sources and includes recipients of funding from institutions such as National Institutes of Health (NIH), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The US Department of Health and Human Services awards grants annually to the value of $239 billion, we can provide access to many of those who have the responsibility for making purchasing decisions in respect of that funding.

Scientific staff working in specific companies or institutions can be targeted and lists can also be limited geographically. BioPortfolio can also focus lists on scientists active in a specific time period which is of particular value with broad search terms. As an example we are able to offer 20 000+ individuals active in the area of cancer research in 2005 alone. Merged lists based on multiple keywords can also be created.

In response to customer demand BioPortfolio has been focusing on its database of individuals working in “.com” biotechnology / biomedical organizations. Currently BioPortfolio can provide the contact details of 57,000 individuals at these organisations including for example more than 1200 from Merck and 700 from Pfizer. While a small fraction of BioPortolio’s total contact database of ~2 million scientists, like the grant holding PIs, this group has been identified as controlling significant bioscience purchasing budgets.
